SEELVIE uses cookies and similar technologies on our website to provide a better experience. This policy explains what we use and why.
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. It is sent back to the server on every visit so websites can recognize you and remember preferences. They are essential for modern web functionality.
Types:
- Session cookies: temporary, deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies: stored for a longer period (days, months, years) to remember your choices.
- First-party cookies: set by SEELVIE.
- Third-party cookies: set by other services (e.g., analytics providers). We do not use third-party cookies today.
Cookies we use
Essential / Functional Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to work properly. They help with:
- Authentication: session tokens so you stay logged in.
- Preferences: remembering your language choice (EN / RO) and theme (light / dark mode).
- Security: anti-CSRF tokens to prevent unauthorized requests.
Typical names: seelvie_session, lang, theme, csrf_token
You cannot disable these cookies: the website will not work without them.
Analytics Cookies
Current status: we do not use analytics cookies or analytics services today. If we add analytics in the future, we will ask for your consent and disclose it here.
Marketing / Advertising Cookies
Current status: we do not use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not track you for advertising purposes or share data with advertising networks.
Social Media Cookies
Current status: we do not embed social media pixels or set social media tracking cookies.
Local storage and similar technologies
Beyond cookies, websites can store data in your browser using localStorage and sessionStorage. We may use these for:
- Caching page data to load faster.
- Storing your preferences and theme choice.
- Remembering your search or filter selections.
These are not cookies but serve a similar purpose. You can clear them in your browser settings (Settings → Clear browser data → Cookies, site data, or Cache).
How to manage cookies
Browser controls
You can manage cookies in your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data → Manage your data across the web.
- Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies and website data.
- Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data.
Disable all cookies
You can disable all cookies in your browser settings. Note: if you disable essential cookies, SEELVIE's website may not work properly.
Third-party tools
You can use privacy browser extensions (e.g., uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger) to control tracking. Since we do not use third-party tracking, these will not affect SEELVIE.
Do Not Track (DNT)
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. We do not currently respond to DNT signals. If you want to opt out of analytics or tracking, disable cookies in your browser settings.
Third-party links
SEELVIE website may link to other websites (e.g., the app stores, external resources). Those websites have their own cookie policies, which we do not control. Please read their privacy and cookie policies if you visit them.
EU ePrivacy & Cookie Law
If you are in the EU, ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC requires websites to obtain consent before setting non-essential cookies. We do not currently set non-essential cookies on our website, so no cookie banner is required. If we add analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we will add a consent banner.
